Abbey Hill Golf Club believes that everyone should be able to enjoy golf in a safe environment. We have adopted and fully support England Golf's Safeguarding Policy.
Everyone should be able to enjoy golf in a safe environment. We all have a responsibility to protect and safeguard children and adults at risk.
Safeguarding in Golf
If you have any concerns about the welfare of a child in golf, or outside the sport, or concerns about the behaviour or practice of a coach, organiser, member, volunteer or anyone else involved in the sport, you should raise the concern as soon as possible.

If you have immediate concerns about the welfare of any child or adult, contact the police on 101 or ring the NSPCC 24-hour free helpline on 0808 800 5000.
Immediate concern?
If someone is at immediate risk of harm, contact the police straight away. Do not delay.
Concerns Might Include
Bullying of children by their peers or by adults
Individuals exploiting their position to gain access to children
Placing unrealistic performance expectations on children
Lacking awareness of the needs for safeguarding
Poor planning
Concerns about the behaviour or practice of a coach, organiser, member or volunteer
Concerns about the welfare of a child or adult at risk
How to Raise a Concern

If there is immediate danger, contact the police straight away.

If it is not an immediate emergency, raise the concern with the club or England Golf safeguarding team.

Record the concern clearly, including what happened, when it happened and who was involved.

Do not investigate the matter yourself.
- 5
Pass the concern to the appropriate safeguarding contact as soon as possible.
